Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
As a Labor & Delivery RN, you will be responsible for providing care and support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. You will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure a safe and positive birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the progress of labor and provide interventions as needed
- Administer medications and pain relief options as prescribed
- Assist with the delivery process and provide support to the mother
- Perform assessments of both mother and baby during labor and after delivery
- Educate and support new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
- Provide emotional support to families during this joyous but sometimes stressful time
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Compassion and empathy for patients and their families
